Playing with a hoop & skimmer
The hoop and skimmer was a popular outdoor toy, played with in the street or in a park.
You roll the metal hoop along the ground and use the skimmer - a wooden handle with a metal hook - to keep it rolling or to catch it if it rolls away too quickly.
The smaller hoop would have been used by a younger child.
